The Korg M1 Setup Guide
The Korg M1 has deep global menus that hide SysEx settings. Internal memory must be unlocked in the Global page, and SysEx filtering must be disabled for backups to work.
No drivers required. Runs natively on Chrome/Edge.
Hardware Setup Steps
- Step 1: Press the GLOBAL button to enter Global Mode.
- Step 2: Use the PAGE+ button to navigate to the MIDI Filtering page.
- Step 3: Ensure that EXCLUSIVE is set to ENA (Enabled). If it says DIS, the M1 will ignore the dump request.
- Step 4: Navigate to the Memory Protect page.
- Step 5: Ensure PROGRAM and COMBINATION are set to OFF.
